2025-2028 artistic research

This circus research was invited in December 2025 by circusnext to be part of a 10 days Seeding LAB at Paris.

„endschalldämpfer“ is an interdisciplinary research project by Tanja Peinsipp on how can contemporary circus be understood as a practice of the imagination?
At the heart of my artistic research lies the question of what new meanings a fossil object can take on when it interacts with the body, and what potential this holds for speculative visions of the future. Taking a dual-flow exhaust system as my starting point, I am investigating whether and how contemporary circus, in times of the climate crisis, can conceive alternative visions of the future without limiting itself to dystopian narratives.
