2025-2027 artistic research

This research project was invited in December 2025 by circusnext to be part of a 10 days Seeding LAB at Paris.

„endschalldämpfer“ is an interdisciplinary research project by Tanja Peinsipp on the sensory experience of the Anthropocene. How does the human body operate between ecological crisis and confidence?
The artist’s physical confrontation with the object of a dual-flow exhaust system, a symbol of fossil fuel technologies, opens up the space for an examination of the effects of car traffic on the air we breathe and on the topic of petromasculinity.
The circus discipline of aerial acrobatics is used to explore and meet this unconventional object in the air and at the same time to thematize “airspace” itself through trying ways to manipulate air with sog effects.
The Understanding of Air as a politically charged medium that permeates the body and tells stories of environmental crisis, privilege and vulnerability is fundamental.
Through staging fog as a protagonist the airspace itself, becomes visible and a matter of our attention. This work is about creating specific atmospheres that negotiate the artist’s emotions on an intangible but sensually perceptible level. Between calm and excitement, the artist enters into a dialog with the stainless steel object in search of fictitious images of the future.
