A discarded piece of metal – the former connection to the automobile as a status symbol which contains two core elements of the capitalist promise of happiness: Autonomy and mobility can be drawn. Even the car brand, the identification mark of many drivers, is still visible on the tailgate. The car as a status symbol of hegemonic masculinity, which as a non-neutral technology embodies something like flexibility, power, risk – qualities that are commonly taken as performativity of masculinity, how can a female read body deal with a deconstructed piece of the car? Can a poetic moment arise between the non-organic metal and the organic human body?
